Companies spend lots of time and effort defining vision and mission for their organizations. These are important to ensure that teams are aligned with its direction and that everyone clearly understands where they are going as a company. While vision and strategy are important, companies often ignore the most critical question: “Why?” Why do we do what we do?
The “Why” we do things is actually more important than the “What” or “How”. Another way of stating this is, “What do we believe in?” Coming to a clear understanding of this as a company transcends vision and mission statements. It establishes core values and beliefs. If done correctly, I believe it helps our customers understand who we are and what our products are about.
So, what does Rockwell Automation’s Arena team believe? Why do we do what we do? We believe that engineers should spend their time solving problems for their organizations and not being programmers. This simple sentence sums up our product road map, vision and mission.
Every feature in this new release was designed to make it easier for users of Arena to solve complex real-world problems faster and easier without having to resort to Visual Basic, C++, Java or any other sort of programming.
Arena pioneered the Flowchart Modeling Methodology that is the foundation of our product. We continue to make adjustments and enhancements to this methodology to make simulation intuitive and accessible to our users. Some competitors have tried to imitate this, but none have the power, flexibility and ease-of-use found in Arena.
In this newsletter you will find more detailed descriptions of these new enhancements and some examples that will show you how to make use of them in your own simulations.
